Bretton Hall Solar Farm
Welcome to our website.
We are YnNi Newydd Cyfyngedig (Welsh for New Energy Ltd), a registered community benefit society, and our mission is to –
- develop a community owned solar farm to generate up to 30 megawatts of clean, renewable energy,
- enable community ownership of the solar farm as an income-generating asset and
- use surplus revenues to provide other tangible community benefits.
This will help to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and address the climate emergency by reducing carbon emissions, whilst maximising the benefits of the scheme to local communities.
We wish to develop our solar farm at Bretton Hall, Chester Road, Flintshire, CH4 0DF. When constructed, this project may well be the largest community-owned solar farm in the UK and we hope this can provide a model for other communities to follow.
